What are “Paleo-inspired ancestral meals made from clean, nutrient-dense ingredients”?
At WholeMade Kitchen we believe FOOD IS MEDICINE, so our singular focus is to create food that is as clean and nutrient-dense as possible. To that end, all our meals are prepared from scratch using ingredients we, as humans, are genetically adapted to eat. They are rich sources of the essential nutrition - proteins, fats, carbohydrates and micronutrients - we need to be vibrantly healthy. We also work hard with our purveyors to ensure our ingredients are free of the chemicals, toxins, hormones and antibiotics typical in conventionally farmed animals and produce today. Our dishes incorporate meats, seafoods, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and natural fats from the cleanest sources we can find using the same methods and techniques our great, great grandmothers used in their Victorian kitchens. We prepare all our meals in small batches and they are free of:
- All grains
- Refined Sugar and
- Industrial seed oils (like canola and soybean oil).
When we incorporate eggs, tree nuts and seafoods into our dishes, they are listed as allergens on our nutrition panel labels and our website. Our meals are also labelled with the nutritional protocols they comply with. All our meals are Paleo approved, most are Whole 30 Approved and we offer a wide selection that comply with the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) and the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD).
What is a ‘Nutritional Protocol’?
A nutritional protocol is a dietary intervention designed to eliminate symptoms by rebalancing the body’s biochemistry and reducing inflammation. Many chronic conditions and diseases are the indirect result of a condition known as ‘Leaky Gut’ where the lining of the small intestine becomes irritated causing it to be more permeable than it should be. Contents from the gut are then able to pass through ‘holes’ in the gut lining and enter the bloodstream triggering an immune response that results in widespread inflammation – this is often the root cause of a myriad of symptoms such as brain fog, digestive problems, hormonal issues, skin rashes, anxiety/depression and autoimmune disorders. The ONLY way to heal a leaky gut and eliminate your symptoms is through dietary intervention. Introducing clean, nutrient dense foods known to heal and seal the gut lining (such as bone broths) and that promote a robust microbiome (‘healthy’ gut flora) such as fermented vegetables is the starting point. Eliminating the food compounds known to compromise gut function and trigger inflammation such as gluten, casein (dairy) and the chemicals (preservatives, colors and flavors) in processed food leads to rapid relief from symptoms and long-term healing of the gut lining. All our meals are Paleo approved, most are Whole 30 approved and we offer a wide selection that comply with the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) and the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD).
What is a WholeMade Meal?
A WholeMade Meal is comprised of clean, nutrient-dense proteins, sides and condiments. You can curate meals that are infinitely customizable to suit your bioindividual needs and personal tastes. All our meals are free of gluten, dairy, soy, corn, refined sugar and industrial seed oils. All our dishes are Paleo approved and many are compliant with the Whole 30, Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) or Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). Best of all, you can rest assured your choices are nutritionally complete, optimally digestible and exquisitely delicious.

- & Condiment.
Are all your ingredients Organic, Grass Fed, Pastured, Wild Caught?
Sadly, we are not able to offer exclusively organic, grass fed, pastured and wild caught product due to both availability and cost. Where our product is organic, we label it as such. We source the cleanest, most nutrient dense meats, seafoods and produce from as close to home as possible recognizing that some purveyors that aren’t certified organic use responsible, sustainable methods in their production practices. We only bring ingredients into our kitchen that we feel strongly about and have researched extensively. We can guarantee that NONE of our proteins are conventionally raised. ALL of our beef is grass fed and our seafood is wild caught. Our Poultry is free of antibiotics and hormones and we seek assurances from our vendors that their animals have not been fed GMO’s. We use the Environmental Working Groups ‘Dirty Dozen’ and ‘Clean 15’ as our guide when sourcing produce and use dry goods brands we know and trust. We prepare everything on our menu from scratch, in house, to maintain the strictest quality controls possible over every meal we serve and are confident that our recipes are true to the nutritional protocols they are labelled with. You can Build-Your-Own Meals from our well stocked fridge as well as selecting from a variety of Healing Upgrades like bone broth and fermented vegetables as well as some delicious treats and snacks. We are located at 151½ Hale Street, Beverly, MA 01915. We are open 7 days a week and our current opening hours are always listed on our homepage.

You can order meals online for Home Delivery or Pick Up from one of our locations (See Where is Home Delivery available? Or Where are your Pick Up locations? for more information. Orders can be placed between Wednesday morning and Tuesday night (orders close at midnight) for home delivery or pick up the following Monday.
Home deliveries are made on Mondays between 8:30am-5pm. If you will not be at home when your order is delivered it is ESSENTIAL that a cooler with ice bricks is left at your delivery address to receive your meals. ORDERS WILL BE RETURNED TO OUR KITCHEN IF NO REFRIGERATION IS AVAILABLE.
The MINIMUM ORDER for home delivery is $60.

Yes! We will honor ALL ‘Chicken or the Eggplant’ Gift Cards. Gift card recipients should have received an email from us on August 4th or 5th 2018 with a new gift card code to replace the old one. How big is a SINGLE meal?
Our SINGLE meals are designed to be your main meal for the day and to satisfy a hungry, active adult. They contain a 2oz green salad with vinaigrette, 5-8oz of Animal Protein, 6oz Vegetable Side and 2-3oz Condiment. This is a large dinner plate of food. Many of our female/older/less active customers split their Animal Protein portions in two and choose an additional Vegetable Side to make multiple meals.
How big is a FAMILY meal?
Our FAMILY meals are designed to be your family’s main meal for the day and typically satisfy an adult couple and 2-4 children depending on the age and activity level of the children. They contain 4 SINGLE portions – this equates to 8oz green salad with vinaigrette, 20-32oz Animal Protein, 24oz Vegetable Side and 8-12oz Condiment. This is 4 large meals or 6 medium sized meals. Customers feeding hungry teenagers often select additional Vegetable Sides (like our Sweet Potato Oven Fries) to stretch a meal and fill everyone up with even more nutrient dense food.
Are the meals fresh or frozen?
Always fresh. You can freeze some of our meals if life happens and you do not expect to eat them in the first seven days, but fresh just tastes better.
How do I heat my meals?
Every item in your meal has customized heating instructions on the label. We provide instructions for both conventional heating methods (stovetop and oven) as well as microwave instructions.
Are your containers oven or microwave safe?
No. Our containers CANNOT be heated in any way. Food should be transferred to a glass or ceramic plate before being microwaved. We don’t advocate heating food in ANY kind of plastic in a microwave. Every item in your meal has customized heating instructions on the label. We provide instructions for both conventional heating methods (stovetop and oven) as well as microwave instructions.
There’s so much packaging… What should I do with the containers?
All our packing is recyclable and reusable, and we encourage our customers to dispose of their packaging using those options.
We have researched and tested a wide array of packaging options including compostable products. We are a Black Earth Compost customer already as we compost ALL of our food prep waste and it would have been ideal to use packaging that our customers could have composted as well. Unfortunately, compostable packaging isn’t designed to store food for up to 7 days which is the shelf life of many of our dishes. It starts to break down which creates a food safety issue for us and the customer with our food sitting in their fridge for the week. We have also researched reusable containers. It is extraordinarily expensive to set up and manage but the real deal breaker on reusables is the Board of Health regulations. There are extremely stringent regulations (rightly so) around the cleaning and sanitation of reusable containers and require dishwashing machinery through which everything reused is processed which we simply don’t have the space to install.
We work closely with our packaging suppliers and they know what we are looking for so as the technology of compostable packaging evolves we will stay abreast of it and continue to seek the most environmentally sensitive solutions available.
